Vista Bars
The idea started with the bones of an old futon. Vista bars are typically about 3 feet long and 3" high. The fun thing about them is that the design is that they go over a door, above a window, on top of the mirror... or there are many other places you can put them! Some have less detail on one end so they could be cut to fit a smaller place without spoiling the subject. Sides and ends can be painted to match the wall that they are on. |

Jacob's Bench
The bench was a project for Art Reach San Diego, a non-profit that promotes the teaching of art to disadvantaged kids. The initial inspiration came from vista bars, and I then had to invent view drops for the verticals. I reused some of the images that I'd done before, so you might recognize some paintings from other areas of the website. |
| View Drops
The complement to Vista Bars proved to be even more popular. These shapes fit well into that little space between doors in a hallway, or over a corner lamp. Verticals are popular shapes and I tend to sell them quickly, so View Drops came as a natural extension to that idea. |

Chamber of Commerce Cactus
The Salton Sea Artists Association refurbished the concrete cactus in front of the West Shores Chamber of Commerce. My first involvement in group-based public art. Errol Etienne and Steve Zirblis were the main artists on this one, though. (I um... overslept.) |
| Kite
The Kite is the subject of inspiration for the 2009 project for Art Reach San Diego. Despite the fact that in the desert we have only two seasons - Heaven and Hell - I can remember the seasons from my childhood in the same way that the little boy in these kites will! This piece will be available for public auction at Art Walk San Diego in April 2009. |
